Museum of Earth History
![]() |
Just opened in May 2005, the Museum, located in the New Holy Land Christian theme park, attempts to reconcile the existence of dinosaurs with the Old Testament. Since it seems like most people aren’t buying the theory that fossils of extinct animals are plants by Satan, a new idea is emerging on the road from science to Christianity. The museum hypothesizes that the unicorn wasn’t the only critter to miss the ark and drown in the great flood. If there only were a song about that.
Now seeing how your humble writer has a degree in Biology, and a fan of the separation of church and state, I must say I find this place amusing. I’m not sure why we can have dinosaurs in the bible but not evolution, nor why people can’t go to church to learn church stuff and go to school to learn school stuff. Heck, I’ve known priests who thought it was silly to not believe in macroevolution. And you know, evolution is a theory the same way gravity is a theory.
Ok, enough ranting. I’m sure whether you’re a Bible-thumper or a fervent secularist, you’ll get something out of this place. Hopefully it will be positive.
