Stonefridge, a Fridgehenge
![]() |
This is a replica of the United Kingdom’s Stonehenge made out of discarded and donated refrigerators. It is now 2.5 fridges high, and it has been assembled with human-power only. The sculpture is technically not completed, and donations of expired refrigerators are enthusiastically accepted. I appreciate when art is recycled from trash, I always think it’s an easy way to rescue otherwise unreuseable items.
It’s surrounded by a chain-link fence, though said fence is breached near the road. I would have trespassed for a closer look but my ride was getting restless, so I was only able to take a few quick snaps.
Note the cross-street is Rincon de Torreon and not any other of the many Torreon variations. We got a little lost because of that.

[…] Yesterday afternoon I went up to Fridgehenge (or Stonefridge) and took some photos of the Ortiz mountains. I quickly assembled them in Photoshop (and no, that’s not proper stitching) and sent them to Miss M. I thought it actually looked cool. Here’s the result. Click on the image to get a larger version and do scroll to the right. Too bad that it was hazy, cludy, dusty and bad light in general. […]
